Nu U Consulting
Training is for dogs. Learning is for life.
What makes a Nu U learning, coaching or consulting program different is that we tend to generate our methods by recombining best practices from disparate disciplines. To do that requires that we constantly explore. This part of the site is one we're trying hard to keep regularly updated to share new thinking and ideas as often as our webmaster will let us.
Book, blog or conversation of the moment:

Here’s where our team pulls out something interesting we’re reading or seeing that’s outside of the mainstream business zone that you might miss if you are only visiting the Journal, Times or your own e-mail in-box. We’d like to make it a weekly feature, but sometimes we get really busy, so it might be more time passes in between than we’d like. Ideas to share? Mail us at info@nuuconsutling.com.

This Month’s Pick:
Gladwell-Simmons II: Ultimate Rematch

As a die-hard, lifelong Yankees fan, I have to preface this by saying I appreciate Bill Simmons a whole lot more when his teams are losing (especially the Red Sox), but you have to love the results when one of the heavyweights of sports commentary challenges a true guru of out-of-the-box business thinking to debate. This 3-part diatribe between Bill Simmons (ESPN columnist and author of
Now I Can Die in Peace) and Malcolm Gladwell (author of best-sellers Tipping Point, Blink, and Outliers, and staff writer with The New Yorker magazine since 1996) is a must read if you love basketball (parts 2 & 3) and/or appreciate the way either writer thinks. I confess after reading it I’ve been seeing “inliers” almost everywhere I look, including in a lot of businesses. Check it out at: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/090513/part1

GIVE YOUR ELEVATOR PITCH A WAKE-UP CALL!
The elevator pitch is the most basic description of your idea, product, service, story or concept. For all business people, and particularly for entrepreneurs, it is the first opportunity to crystallize your brand and marketing messages for communicating to core audiences-be they prospective clients, venture capital providers or networks. You have one chance and few words to make a lasting impression, so it had better be powerful and memorable!

At the Morris County Chapter of NJAWBO’s May Breakfast meeting, Brand & sales training gurus Crystal Schaffer, President of Nu U Consulting, & Linda Stillman, President and co-founder of the SALES4SURE Solutions, took NJ small business owners through an easy-to-learn process for solidifying your pitch and applying it immediately to your sales strategy.
